The ICG 'went independent' from the MRS on 25th February 2002. We are therefore almost on the eve of our 10th birthday!
It's been suggested that it would be a shame to let this occasion pass unmarked.
To kick off, I've sorted out a London celebration outing on the evening of Monday 27th February. I'd be delighted if you - and a partner or close associate if you wish - could join us. We are keeping this very simple. If you can come, please email admin@theicg.co.uk ideally by MONDAY MORNING 20 FEBRUARY, with numbers coming.
The details are:
- I've booked space for 20 people (can possibly be expanded) at The 606 Club, Lots Road in Chelsea. This is almost certainly London's best jazz/supper club (I've been 3-4 times). The female vocalist booked for 27 February has a very strong reputation. For full gig and venue details see http://www.606club.com
- Doors open 7pm. Gig starts at 8.30pm. Order food whenever you like. Very informal
- Cost: £31 pp to include entrance and a 2 course meal (menu 1a: starter and main or main and desert); drinks extra - reasonable bar prices. NB you cannot come and NOT order food - that's the club deal not ours. Pay on the night individually to the club; ICG finances will not be involved.
- The 606 club has an excellent atmosphere.
- Transport: good local on-street parking; Fulham Broadway tube c.10 minutes walk; also new overland rail station at Imperial Wharf is a short walk away for trains to Clapham Junction.
- All ICG members welcome, plus ONE guest or partner each please.
WE HOPE YOU CAN COME ON MONDAY 27TH FEBRUARY, 7PM!
Please respond to Andy/ICG Admin, as soon as possible if you can come! First come first served - we may NOT be able to get more than 20 bookings but if needed, this is more feasible the sooner I contact the 606 Club next week.
Best wishes – Andrew Smith, for your ICG Committee
PS I'd also like to invite other members to get together in their local areas and have a similar 10 YEAR ICG BIRTHDAY PARTY evening or lunchtime outing/meal/event/pint of shandy, sometime in the next couple of weeks, for the same reason. Andy Laing will facilitate.
