Yahoo sends egroup emails to your own email address. Although Yahoo allows members to specify more than one email address, only one is active.
The address used by Yahoo does not have to be the same as your normal business or personal email address (you could create a new address purely for egroup use) though in practice most members do use their normal email address. It also makes it easier when sending posts yourself to the egroup (see below).
Changing your email address
It is possible to change the address you use for the egroup:
(a) If you have your own Yahoo ID and password, you can go to finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/indepconsultants
Click on the 'Edit membership' menu item near the top of the screen, and make the change.
(b) If you do not have your own Yahoo ID and password, you can either obtain one via groups.yahoo.com or ask the moderator to change the email address for you. Write to guy@consterdine.com
If the moderator enrolled you into the egroup (rather than you applying yourself via the Yahoo website) it did not involve an ID or password, so option (b) is likely to be the relevant one for you.
Send posts from the same address
Yahoo not only sends posts to the one email address with which you are registered: it also only accepts posts from you via that address.
Those members who have more than one email address occasionally find that messages they try to send to the egroup are bounced back by Yahoo because Yahoo does not recognise the sender's email address. This always proves to be because the member was emailing from a different address from the one registered with Yahoo. The problem is solved by emailing from the Yahoo-registered address.
