JGFR specialises in advising and reporting to clients on the mood and financial activity of the consumer. Working closley with GfK JGFR has established the longest-running holistic tracking study of UK consumers, combining both confidence and intended financial activity. Analysis covers gender, regions, household income, working status and by education attainment.
The annual (formerly quarterly UK Financial Activity Barometer) covers consumers savings, investment, borrowing and debt repayment intentions across 18 categories of activity. Survey data now extends back to March 2002 providing a valuable source of information on the financial consumer covering the pre-financial recession housing boom, the financial recession, 2009-13 austerity years, recovery years (2014-15) and now Brexit (2016+)
Through wide ranging financial experience and a network of associates JGFR offers regular & bespoke reports, presentations, workshops & mentoring on the financial mood and attitudes of consumers and investors .
JGFR also has an interest in the role of sport in shaping the nation and has published a report on the mood of the nation in the run up to, during and after London 2012 and subsequently annual reports tracking the Olympics legacy, especially the role charities are playing using sport to change young peoples' lives.
Wide experience in marketing/business devlelopment roles in international, corporate and retail/private banking for major UK banks, followed by a second career as a business/market researcher/economist running own business. Chair of leading UK sport for development charity for 7 years 2008-15.
