Do you need an experienced insight professional to work on a project or task?
I am an experienced quant and qual researcher with a broad base of experience. I have detailed subject expertise in education, transport, media and telecoms. And I am available on a freelance basis for work on a whole project or individual elements.
What I can bring to a project or task is:
• Broad ranging research expertise
• A proven track record
• Thoughtful and personalised service
• Creative analysis and presentation
I am an all-round researcher - equally at home with quant and qual, consumer and business audiences. I love to immerse myself in a project and subject area, getting to the bottom of whatever business issue or question the client has tasked me with.
As a freelancer, I am able to slot into an organisation or undertake a specific task. I know when to ask questions and when to make judgements. My recommendations are available to browse and highlight my skills and personal qualities. As a taster, others have described me as:
• Reliable, motivated and hard working
• Efficient and self reliant
• Someone with proven management and organisational ability
• Strong on interpersonal and communication skills
I have a very broad knowledge of research. I have experience of many different sectors and methods on which to draw on, and am equally comfortable with consumer and business audiences.
Sectors where I have particular experience include:
Research areas I have worked in extensively include:
- Stakeholder engagement
- Brand, advertising & communications
- Customer satisfaction
- Segmentation & KDA
- Usage and attitudes
- Tracking research
After 10 years employment comprised of 3 full service research agencies I became a freelancer. As someone who can work independently, loves to problem solve and to immerse in a project and subject area, this has been a perfect role for me for the past 8 years.
My agency career included large and small companies. This has provided me with the understanding of how big organisations work which translates into how to help clients succeed in their aims and objectives. Working for a smaller agency means I have been exposed to all aspects of the running of a business, including team marketing budgets and strategies.
Spending the early stage of my career in the quantitative area has given me a strong understanding of advanced analystic techniques and their applications. I know how to get the most out of quant data and to give the client a tangible resource of information and insight.
Qualitative research is something that comes naturally to me. I love talking to people, making observations and engaging with a problem in a qualitative manner. Having both skill sets means that I can recommend the best option to clients.
Working on my own meant I wasn't always getting enough exposure to organisational change and challenges. This is where my voluntary role as a school governor has really strengthened my skills in strategic organisational change, leadership and communication.
