Background

Kate Dennis, founder of Open Door Insights, is a seasoned researcher and RIVA trained moderator with roots in both qualitative and quantitative research.   With more than 25 years in the business and experience across a wide variety of industries, Kate’s distinctive style and skill set allows her to dissect and approach problem solving from many different angles.

Kate prides herself in her ability to listen and ask questions that make people feel human. Her proven Activity Based Conversations™ approach creates a safe space for people to be heard and allows deeper, more unconscious human emotions and feelings to come to the surface. This approach has also proven to be extremely effective at yielding emotional insights from professional/B2B audiences.

Kate is a pioneer and acknowledged industry expert in online qualitative methods but is continuously evolving, seeking to learn, grow and challenge herself to find new ways to add value.  She moderates in person and online in both Canada and the U.S. on a regular basis and has also led and participated in many multi country projects in the past.  Her company, founded in 2008, engages a team of diverse, highly skilled researchers, strategists, planners, designers and facilitators around the globe to help set companies up for success wherever and whatever their need.

When she’s not listening to what people have to say, Kate can be found photographing the world around her or hiking the forests and trails with her fun-loving, energetic Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maya.
