Background

I am an experienced social researcher who has worked on a wide range of research projects in statutory, voluntary and academic settings. Most of the research has been geared to policy development and change within organisations. I now tend to specialise in on-line customer satisfaction and staff surveys but am available for other research projects too.

Having obtained a BA(Hons) in Sociology, I started my career working for Worcestershire Social Services undertaking a study of social need in Kidderminster, under the supervision of Birmingham University. In the mid 1970s I was involved in feasibility studies for and the evaluation of community work and youth work projects for the Community Projects Foundation based in London. In Leicester in the 1980s I worked in race equality, first for the Leicester Council for Community Relations and then the Leicester City Council Race Relations Unit. This involved research and other activities. I then moved to Norwich, where I worked for the Norfolk Probation Service, conducting a number of research projects and setting up monitoring and information systems. I then undertook nationally funded research projects at Norwich City College and the University of East Anglia School of Social Work. In the late 1990s, I worked for Healthy Norfolk 2000 managing a range of health promotion projects.

Research Plus+ was established in 1993 to provide quality research and evaluation services. It has been operating as a full time business since 2000. The partners are Jenny Wilding and Mark Barton. Research Plus+ has undertaken research for a wide range of clients including the National Trust, Kings College London and Norfolk County Council.
