Geoff is an experienced IT/comms & digital market insights and research professional of +25 years… this has involved full service project management: from design/development, to screening/recruitment processes, to in-depth expert interviewing and focus group moderation, to quantitative surveys, to analysis and presentation of results.

The majority of work has been conducted in NA/EMEA, but also in the Middle East, India, Far East (China, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.), Australasia and S. America.

With a background focused totally on technology markets, predominantly within the enterprise, Geoff has a strong background in IT infrastructure and cloud, mobility, big data, BI, IT governance, infosecurity, IoT, AI, AR/VR, ‘digital business’, etc.

Clients have included: Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, HP, Symantec, Nokia, Blackberry, Vodafone, Gartner and other large clients; but, also research agencies such as Circle Research, Millward Brown, Ronin, QRS, etc.

Geoff started his IT market research career at IBM UK, in the S/36/38 division, engaged in customer satisfaction research; this was followed by 3 years at a specialist CAD/CAM/CAE (manufacturing/engineering) research agency doing a mix of quant and qual research. He then moved onto the client-side and worked for Bull HN Information Systems (now Atos) until he set-up Technology Research in 1992.

Since then he has worked on mostly large-scale international qualitative projects looking at branding/messaging, new product development and other areas focusing on customer ‘disconnects’, mostly within the enterprise and SMB space.

Other specialist areas include IT/Comms industry conference research, i.e. conducting +100 focus groups for clients such as Cisco, Gartner and ITExpo; and, leading-edge research into ‘digital business & transformation’, IoT and the emerging AI market.
