Background

I was head of audience research for the BBC World Service from 1982 to 1998. Since then I have been engaged in projects in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe in whicb research is used to improve human development. Nearly all my work is in the non commercial sector.. I also train people in quantitative research and have done this in around 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.
