Overview
Headliners offers best-in-class strategic qualitative research - UK or global, with particular expertise in brand and comms research: brand strategy, positioning, comms development, product positioning etc.
Services
Headliners is a collective of independent researchers, led by Daniel Rose - formerly Head of Comms and MD of Firefish.
We put together bespoke teams of people to deliver against the needs of the brief. Every project is delivered by senior people at every step of the process - from project management, to fieldwork, to analysis.
Dan has a particular fondness for brand and comms work: anything where there is a brand or creative question underpinning the need for research. From the big questions - "How should our brand positioning evolve as the cultural narrative around us changes?" To the smaller, but equally important ones: "which of these approaches to execution are most effective at landing our strategy and what changes can we make to improve impact and clarity?" For smaller projects, our size and seniority means we can be agile - turning things around quickly, without compromising on quality.
While brand and comms is the focus, any strategic qualitative work where you need a senior guiding hand throughout would fall within our capabilities. And because we are a small collective of independents rather than an agency with big overheads, the price point will be a pleasant surprise.
About
I'm Dan. I was at Firefish for most of my professional life, going from RE all the way to MD (with a brief spell away in between to be a client).
I'm from London originally but these days I live in Sheffield with my wife, 2 kids (12 and 14) and a yappy little dog with an attitude problem.
Having spent much of my life in a high pressure agency environment, the plan with Headliners is to keep things calm and simple. Doing a small number of high quality projects each year for a small number of clients I enjoy working with. I am loving being able to focus again on the work, one to two projects at a time, putting my all into doing the best job I can. I do a lot of the work myself, but also collaborate with a trusted network of freelancers I've known for years, all of whom deliver outstanding work.
Outside of work I'm low energy and have fully embraced middle age. I like football, going for walks, gardening, going out to eat - and pretty much every other boring middle aged thing you can think of. Except cycling. I really hate cycling.
