• Doing business abroad: the opportunities

Dermot Shean

Our speakers are Dermot Shean, who is International Trade Advisor South East for UK Trade and Investment, and Caroline Noon, founding Director of Vivid Research

Who?  Dermot is a passionate believer in the ability of UK consultants and companies to do more business abroad, and in an export-led recovery. Caroline will demonstrate the theory in action, with project summaries and ideas.

What does Dermot do?  He is a senior advisor leading frequent trade missions to the Middle East and beyond. He is a highly experienced business professional with a knowledge of most global markets, working previously in the educational software sector and with Reuters.

What does Caroline do? co-owner of Vivid Research – a boutique agency specialising in insight and concept development and offering qualitative strategic consultancy in the UK and globally.  Caroline’s experience ranges across geographical boundaries and disciplines and she regularly manages international projects.  She will share with us the challenges faced and successes enjoyed by Vivid when working across countries and cultures and pass on valuable learning and advice for anyone thinking about expanding internationally, or looking to improve their international presence. See www.vivid-research.com

Why is this meeting relevant to you?  Just because you are a small business doesn’t mean that your business needs to be geographically restricted.  Independents have a lot of scope to offer high quality, value services to companies who are expanding their reach or that already have a presence in other markets.  Vivid Research is living testament of this. And, there is help out there – be it advice, case studies or funding.  Dermot and Caroline will explore a number of areas relevant  to ICG members, including UK funding available for export initiatives.

Who is this for?:  anyone who is interested in growing their business and in international opportunities
