About

I recently worked for Ipsos UK for 16 years. I was a Research and Evaluation Director (criminal justice), and Head of Vulnerabilities - a role that involved developing and embedding an approach to trauma aware research and evaluation. I previously led an area of work on the NHS workforce.

Before Ipsos I worked for HM Inspectorate of Prisons carrying out research to support the inspection process in prisons.

And prior to all of that, I worked for a short while as a primary school teacher having done a PGCE after my MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Recent topics I've researched / evaluated include: the indirect costs of hate crime, misogyny in the police, counter-terrorism, different aspects of youth justice, serious crime, the NHS workforce and public perceptions and experiences of health.

Methods I've worked with range from interviews with the public and people experiencing multiple vulnerabilities to complex surveys and cognitive interviews. I have designed/delivered deliberative events with the public and run online workshops.

My evaluation experience includes realist, theory based evaluations (process and impact) - traditional and applying learning from developmental evaluation.
