About

Am an active volunteer with AMSR (Archive of Market and Social Research) charity.

Fluent in Arabic, live in Scotland but travel to London for MRS and AMSR events regularly

I saw and experienced the complete evolution of Dubai (UAE) as was offered a position with MEMRB (which eventually became Nielsen) to head the client servicing for the Gulf Region in mid-90s and supposedly for only 3 years but it lasted 23 years. Some brilliant experiences, and I am credited (by many) with being the researcher that did the first international research (retail audit and quantitative study) in Iran for an FMCG (US manufacturers) and white goods (S Korea manufacturer) clients. I also worked as a consultant on many projects (in mid 00s) with the Kurdistan Government (North Iraq)/WorldBank on a research, and feasibility studies, including training professors/staff (highly educated but from 70s/80s) in Erbil university on basic research - how to design simple questionnaire, analyse it (basic excel software) and how to conduct interviews.

As well as research, I have extensive marketing experience (and the best marketeers are those from research) and have worked for multi-national as well as government entities (and real estate) both in UK and UAE.
