About

I started Matthew Minns Research Consultancy in 2009 to meet a need for high quality research without the big agency costs.

With 25+ years’ experience as a successful qualitative researcher and consultant I have worked at a director level for top agencies managing all aspects of research projects, winning new business and building relationships with clients.

I’ve researched a huge range of subjects from sex selection policy for the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority to Nike fitness applications for mobile devices. Run car clinics for Bugatti in France and evaluated BBC events in Swansea.  Developed campaigns to prevent pregnant smoking and helped Samsung create the future of mobile phones. Developed comms for banks and explored the future of autonomous cars.  Helped monetise TikTok and tested Labour policy.

I began my career in the BBC’s Audience Research Department (BARB) and have since held directorships at Kindle Research and Counterpoint Research before becoming an independent consultant.

As an independent researcher I now work closely with a range of research agencies, businesses and government departments.

Many of my projects focus on energy transition, NPD, UX, automotive, new technology, health, education, communications, evaluation and policy work within the education and social care sectors.
