Director, Momentum Research

Overview

Dedicated to doing qualitative research a little differently, as demonstrated by my analysis of non-verbal communication (one app and two ebooks) and more recently my embrace of AI.

Services

I began my career in creative qualitative research at Cooper Research and Marketing (CRAM), later holding senior management positions at TNS.

My PhD thesis at Imperial College, London was based on intensive interviews with unemployed professional and managers exploring and measuring the psychological consequences of unemployment.

I have continued to pursue my interest in the study of emotions during my market research career, capturing on video, analysing and labelling non-verbal signs of emotion.

I have recently developed the use of Claude 3.5 Sonnet for qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting.

About

I have the usual cultural interests, particularly theatre.

I suppose I'm a bit of a politics and history geek, as evidence from my podcast subscriptions.

Liverpool FC supporter, together with my oldest son.

I try to run 5K twice a week (I'm a bit of a slave to my Fitbit).
