Independent Minds is the Amsterdam based boutique research agency of Sabine Rats & Wim Buedts. Thanks to our Dutch, Belgian and French roots, we wee the Belgium and the Netherlands as our favorite playground,, but we cover France as well.

Fluent in Dutch/Flemish and French,  both Sabine and I are the senior qualitative researchers you have also wanted to team up with. Thanks to our Dutch - Belgian - French roots, we see the Benelux as our favorite playground, but we cover France as well.

We are enthousiast, intelligent and highly  experienced. Together we have more than half a century of research expertise, across countries, markets and target groups.

The co-moderation of FG's and IDI's is our trademark, both off and online, providing for more eyes, ears and brains for smart and to the point analysis and reporting.

We embrace the possibilities of technology and consider ourselves as  the pioneers of online qualitative research, using AI when it is appropriate and going for online focus groups and in-depths whenever they bring added value to the research. But let it be clear, we remain the quintessential qualies, being convinced that nothing beats human interaction and empathy.

About

Sabine studied Dutch literature at the university of Leiden (Nl).  Before teaming up with Wim, she worked as freelance qualitative researcher (Nl, Be, Fr) and as CMI manager at Unilever Nl.

Sabine is the always curious, careful listener with great analytical skills. She is adventurous, self-confident and empathetic. You can find her at least once a year walking through the Egyptian desert under a sky with a million stars.

Wim studied communication and psychology at the universities of Ghent (Be) and Brussels (Be). Before joining the team with  Sabine, he worked as a freelance researcher for leading Belgian research agencies  with accounts in Nl, Be, Fr.

Wim is creative, hyper-social and loves to think out of the box. He enjoys concept writing and thinking about life and mankind on his trips through Europe on the motorbike, often under a less starful sky.
