GTM Africa is a boutique market research consultancy firm. We are a true gateway to Africa, delivering quality research (full scope) across 20+ African markets, both qualitative and quantitative, with unmatched local field presence in anglophone and francophone markets.

We operate across two research domains: marketing research and social research — giving us unique versatility across commercial and development clients.

Our marketing research covers the full spectrum: brand health audits, product and concept testing, usage & attitudes studies, market understanding, retail audits and census work. Our social research spans programme evaluations, baseline and endline surveys, ecosystem mapping and GESI analysis for NGOs, foundations and governments.

Whichever the domain, we deliver across all methodologies and all phases - from instrument design and fieldwork to data processing and final reporting.

We have built and quality-assured the GTM Field Teams: a trusted network of local research partners across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Zimbabwe, Zambia and beyond. About

My research journey started on the ground - literally. I began doing fieldwork before moving into agency roles at Millward Brown and Ipsos Kenya, which is where I developed the client servicing and project management side of the craft. That combination - knowing both the field and the boardroom - has shaped how I work to this day.

The biggest chapter was seven years at Philip Morris International in Dakar, where I led consumer and market research across 20+ African markets. Working from Senegal pushed me deep into francophone Africa, and I came out of it genuinely bilingual enough to manage projects in French without a middleman.

I started GTM Africa in 2022 to do things properly - research that is rigorous at the instrument level and useful at the decision-making level. I am equally comfortable running an FGD in Nairobi / Douala / Lagos / Dakar and presenting findings to a global client team.

Outside work, I am a father who loves to travel and is never far from a grill. Nyama choma is non-negotiable 🙂
