Owner/Director, D.M. Research Ltd.

I have specialised in Pharmaceutical Market Research now for 27 years researching a wide range of therapy areas.

I conduct research amongst healthcare professionals including Opinion Leaders as well as patients and caregivers.

I have had the pleasure and interest in seeing how health care has changed over the 27 years I have been involved in this area. We live in exciting times now with medicine and medical devices evolving at such rapid pace as well as patients here in the UK having more of a voice.

Therapy areas I have researched include Oncology, Neurology, Dermatology, Haematology, Diabetes, Ophthalmology, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Immunology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, and more and more now genetics and rare diseases. This research includes not only treatments but also medical devices and imaging.

Web -Assisted TDIs have become more of a norm since pandemic times and I see this remaining. I also conduct IDI's and Focus Groups. I have long standing relationships with some great health care recruiters who keep me updated daily on progress.

Being independent allows me the flexibility to work hours outside of typical office/agency hours which is often the requirement for my clients and respondents alike to fit around their working day. My wealth of knowledge of the UK healthcare system provides insights to those agencies who operate outside of the UK, particularly when conducting global projects.

I started life in R&D in the home care division of Unilever Research and then similar role in SC Johnson but my desire to want to know what customers actually thought about products led me into the field of market Research whilst at SC Johnson so moved across into their Product Evaluation department and subsequently moved to the market research agency Taylor Nelson Sofres.

After a spell travelling I then commenced my healthcare career at Insight Medical and once started a family I moved into the great world of freelance in health care and never looked back. I formed DM Research in 2007 and pride myself in working closely with my clients, many I have worked with throughout my 27 years in this field.

I have been a member of the ICG for around 20 years now and also a member of the BHBIA (British Healthcare Business Intelligence Association).

On a personal note I am one of those many people who took up sea swimming since COVID pandemic, previously being an avid pool swimmer and now swim off the South Coast most weekends throughout all seasons. I also love as many do, just socialising with friends and family.
