Ask Joe Public was launched 2006 by Julia Whitehead.  Julia has over 25 years' experience in qualitative market research and has worked in both agencies and clientside roles.  She is passionate about research and problem solving.

  • We undertake face-to-face and online methodologies, including focus groups, depth interviews, in situ intercepts, community platforms, ethnography, video content and diaries.
  • Julia provides consultancy, end to end research solutions and standalone moderation.
  • She works independently and/or on larger or mixed methodology projects with others has the capacity to collaborate with other consultants from the ICG.

 

About

I love my job - it's a true privilege.

It allows me into people's worlds and enables me to sharing people's behaviour experiences with them.  I enjoy listing to their stories and watching them go about their daily lives and seeing how they react to ideas.  My job has taken me from everyday situations to extraordinary places and life moments, including shopping for engagement rings, holidaying with them on a cruise ship and being in high security government sites.

I have been a tutor on the APG 2-day moderation course, invited to be an expert adviser on SME's for the Guardian Newspaper and written articles for online platforms, including Marketing Donut and HSBC business centre.  In my spare time I enjoy walking, yoga and travelling.
