Please join us at our next Book Group session, where we will discuss ‘Motherdom: Breaking Free from Bad Science and Good Mother Myths’ whilst also welcoming author, Alex Bollen.

Alex’s book Motherdom: Breaking Free from Bad Science and Good Mother Myths was published in March in the UK and US by Verso. It explores how flimsy science has been used to shame and blame generations of mothers. It’s been described as “compelling” by the New Scientist and “a thorough investigation into the intense pressures mothers face” by the Washington Post.
Alex’s book owes a lot to her experiences as a researcher. Alex was a Research Director at Ipsos MORI and has been a freelance researcher since 2011. Ben Page, who was CEO of Ipsos, has said of Motherdom: “This is essential reading for anyone interested in how research should – and shouldn’t – be used.”
Motherdom is available from all good bookshops, including Waterstones and Foyles. The ebook can be purchased from Verso or Amazon.
