It’s been hard to miss the rapid rise of AI-mediated moderation this year. So we asked our group of AI enthusiasts:

A few themes came through strongly in the responses:
- AI moderation is undeniably quick and affordable and could work well in structured, lower-stakes conversations.
- However, automation will sacrifice emotional nuance, cultural understanding and the subtleties that make human moderation so valuable.
- Most agreed the future is likely to be hybrid, using AI for when efficiency and scale is essential and humans for depth.
