ICO helpline for small and micro businesses
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) launched a dedicated advice line on Wednesday 1 November at 10am to help small organisations prepare for the new data protection laws. The phone service is aimed at people running small businesses or charities and recognises the particular problems they face getting ready for the new law, called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). European GDPR guidance published – breach reporting, profiling and administrative fines
The Article 29 Working Party – the group of EU data protection authorities charged with agreeing European-wide guidance on GDPR – has recently published guidelines on profiling, breach reporting and administrative fines. Consistency across the EU is one of the fundamental drivers of the GDPR and, as the UK member of Article 29 (WP29), we’re either leading or assisting in the development of guidance on some of the main aspects of the law.
