Data Protection Regulation – major changes are coming and they will affect you!

02 Mar 2017 | Webinars

This webinar was kindly sponsored by FieldAgent – using crowdsourcing and mobile apps to deliver real-time customer insight

In September 2015 we presented a webinar explaining how important it was that all market researchers register with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) as we all handle personal data from time to time.

Well the rules are changing big time, so you need to be ready for when they come into place in 2018.

The changes mean greater accountability on all businesses handling data (whether as a controller or a processor); direct exposure to high monetary penalties and compensation claims from individuals; extensive new compliance and audit demands from clients.

Now is the time to get prepared for this new era in data protection and this webinar is tailored to meet the needs of independent professional researcher.

We asked Michelle Goddard, Director of Policy & Standards at the MRS, to take us through the new regulations and explain what independent researchers need to do in order to be compliant.

Michelle is responsible for promoting and protecting MRS quality standards. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, she received her Ph.D. in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Canada in 2011 and has a wealth of experience in consumer market regulation and research gained in a range of academic, policy and enforcement roles over the last 20 years.
