Fellowship of MRS is the most prestigious grade of membership awarded in recognition of exceptional accomplishment and contribution to the sector.
Konrad Collao, Craft
It means a lot for my work to be recognised by the Market Research Society. The most satisfying thing is the fact that I was nominated for a Fellowship by someone with whom I am only tangentially linked. I’d honestly never even considered being a Fellow – it wasn’t really on my radar. Yet, taking the time to reflect on my career to date and take stock of my ‘achievements’ was heartening. It underlined to me that we’d probably all benefit from taking some time to think about what we contribute. I for one am guilty of launching into ‘the doing’ without taking the time to celebrate the work and its impact. Seeing my career highlights written down was hugely gratifying, a feeling multiplied by the fact that the MRS’ Main Board felt they were worthy of recognition.

What an honour. I’ve had a fairly unconventional career, but the one constant has been market research. I’ve loved this sector ever since I fell into it by taking a part-time job as a telephone interviewer while at university. I loved the combination of arts and science, the ability to be really nosy about peoples lives and, more than anything, the people. Researchers are typically intelligent, curious and thoughtful, and I’ve been delighted and privileged to work with so many inspirational people over the years. I’m equally delighted to be in such august company as that of the other MRS Fellows, including our own Konrad Collao, and I’m very grateful to the MRS for the award.
